Honeysuckle.

RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT · KENILWORTH, CAPE TOWN · 2021

Honeysuckle is a four-unit townhouse development on a compact residential site in Kenilworth, Cape Town, completed in 2021. Set on a quiet, tree-lined street, the project responds to the need for careful densification within established residential suburbs.

Within a modest footprint and constrained development budget, the project focuses on efficient planning, generous openings and the careful use of available outdoor space. Large windows bring light into compact living areas, while the kitchens and living rooms open onto private yards that make use of the existing trees on the site and street edge. The result is a practical speculative development with a greater sense of space, light and garden connection than its footprint might suggest.

Design development and construction oversight were undertaken by Ceoné Joubert as project architect while employed by Gordon Hart Architects.
