Blombos.

Blombos is a private residential renovation in Muizenberg, Cape Town, set to begin construction in 2026. The project reconfigures existing apartment spaces within a heritage-listed Edwardian-style building, creating a larger contemporary home while retaining the character of the building and streetscape.

The intervention is primarily internal, improving circulation, spatial connection and everyday use. Exterior work is deliberately restrained: street-facing timber windows will be carefully replaced to match the existing, while new additions remain modest, contemporary and visually recessive. The project is an exercise in careful adaptation allowing an older building to support a new way of living without losing the qualities that give it its place in Muizenberg.
