Blombos.

Blombos is a private residential renovation in Muizenberg, Cape Town, set to begin construction in 2026. The project reconfigures existing apartment spaces within a heritage-listed Edwardian-style building, creating a larger contemporary home while retaining the character of the building and streetscape.

The intervention is primarily internal, improving circulation, spatial connection and everyday use. Exterior work is deliberately restrained: street-facing timber windows will be carefully replaced to match the existing, while new additions remain modest, contemporary and visually recessive. The project is an exercise in careful adaptation — allowing an older building to support a new way of living without losing the qualities that give it its place in Muizenberg.
